01
Unconditional
she accepts them, no matter the judgements. she embraces them, no matter the arguments. she cherishes them, no matter the distance. the end of her adoration does not exist.

she accepts them, no matter the judgements. she embraces them, no matter the arguments. she cherishes them, no matter the distance. the end of her adoration does not exist.
02
Blues
she didn’t know how heavy a burden her body can be until she couldn’t drag it out of bed.
she didn’t know how much anxiety can plague her mind until she is drowning in them.
truly, the test of one’s strength, in every sense of the word, is motherhood.

03
Embrace
vaginal or cesarean birth, breastfeeding or formula,
she is not any less of a mother, lacking of a woman, without them.
she accepts that not everything can go as planned.
still, she embraces her reality and showers her little one with love.

04
Anxiety
it feels like their entire world lies in her two hands. she wishes there was a way to see into the future, make sure all is good and she did well.

05
Bliss
if the light would leave her hair,
the water leave her skin,
the little one’s laugh will always
put them all back and restore her.
each time it does, her heart grows bigger
than it was before.

06
Scrutiny
she looks sideways and judges her distance from another.
it is not a race, it has no finish line.
she cherishes this walk, because no one else walks the same path
with the same little one, witnessing the same miracles.

07
Graces
cradling them, feeding them, changing them,
bathing them, holding them, teaching them,
scolding them, hugging them, loving them.
one after the other, she forgets how much she missed what came before.
but she counts these blessings, and is forever thankful.

08
Mayhem
her journey is amazing. then it gets really hard.
then it is incredible. and then it is everything in between.
she holds on to the good, and breathes through the bad
and embraces the wildest and most wonderful ride of her life.

in the dark, she sits in silence and swallows her cries. a mother shelters and dotes on her young one.
she wants to be the light, she wants to be the guide. but plagued by fatigue, chained by disdain, even in her facadé she feels mediocre.
nevertheless, the little one who trusts her,
who puts their world in her hands,
only sees her extraordinary light ahead.
the illumination that is fueled by her love for them,
and nothing else material.
so she casts her chains aside,
and looks at her hands at herself.
Mother dearest, you are radiant.
